Frequently Asked Questions

Since we are an ecumenical community and welcome families from varied Christian faith backgrounds, we simply ask families to agree to the tenets of the Christian faith as outlined in the Nicene Creed.

All students birth through high school meet on Fridays from 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Additionally, two upper elementary classes (literature & writing), two middle school classes (history & science), and two high school classes (Humanitas & science) also meet Wednesday afternoons from 1-3 p.m.

Yes! We have a nursery for birth through age 2, and we offer a preschool class for ages 3-4.​

Students birth through grade 5 must have a parent on site on Fridays. Parents of students in grade 6+ may utilize our drop off program for an additional fee.

Currently we have over 50 students in our community and growing. 

Our lower elementary class generally contains students from kindergarten through 3rd grade, our upper elementary class generally contains students from 3rd through 5th grade, our middle school class generally contains students from 6th through 8th grade, and our high school class generally contains students from 9th through 12th grade.

We don’t have strict grade divisions because we know that every child progresses differently. We allow each family to enroll their students in whichever classes are the best fit for each student. We try to offer classes of similar content during the same class block so that parents can choose the class that best suits their student.

For example, we offer science during block 4 for both lower elementary and upper elementary. Lower elementary students are completing a nature journal and have optional read-aloud books at home during the week while the upper elementary students are tackling an Apologia Young Explorers textbook at home. A certain student may be ready for an upper elementary history class but needs to stay in the lower elementary science class. This is perfectly fine!

Every parent in our community contributes in some way. We have many teaching and non-teaching roles that parents may choose to fill. We love for parents to get involved with teaching a core class, but we never want to put someone in a class where they don’t feel qualified and eager to teach. Some examples of non-teaching roles include leading in convocation, coordinating community lunches, monitoring students at recess or in the hallway, helping in the nursery, or planning parties and fun holiday events for the community.

Each class uses a carefully-chosen curriculum that aligns with classical pedagogy and our community's guiding principles. Some teachers create additional content to deepen the student's connections with the material and provide depth and richness to the class.

When joining our community, each family pays a $20 application fee and a $50 enrollment fee. The yearly cost for each family includes a per-class fee plus flat community fees. 
 

The cost for each class is split among the students in the class, so the class cost for each student varies depending on the classes in which they are enrolled.
